Made in 1971 in my aunt’s backyard, this picture holds true to everything I love about photography. Using his Nikon F, my dad was able to capture a moment in time and everyone’s personality all at once. This photo is as interesting to me now as it was when I first looked at it… I mean really looked at it.
For me a good photograph, regardless of what is used to make it, will maintain a life all it’s own. My objective is to work within a situation to make photographs I can’t repeat. Usually, unplanned and in the moment, I look to capture something beyond the surface. A good photograph will go beyond what I see in front of me and reveal itself after the fact. It’s this rare quality about a photograph which keeps me looking for more.
Current work can be found on the blog where I will post regularly from photo assignments and personal projects. All updates to this site, gallery openings and anything else I can think of will be announced on Facebook & Twitter
Thank you for taking the time to review my work.
